Fuji-san
Fuji-san kicked my ***! We climbed Mt. Fuji and though the weather beat us down, we made the most of it and had a good time. Kim Bryant and I did our best to
get to the top and would have made it if not for the horrible rain storm that pounded on us for close to 8 hours of our 10 hour climb. We were told by
a mountain guide to turn around because there was a bad storm coming in.
So we went a little further but finally turned back. Our husbands have admitted that they would have turned back "for coffee" quite some time before we did! From what we understand,
if the weather was clear we would of easily seen the summit, but since we could barely see in front of our faces that was not possible.
We have many pictures to share that I have posted in the photo gallery, and we are both really glad that we did it. Climbing Mt. Fuji is on the list of 100 things you should do before you die, so I guess we can check that one off.
One of the coolest things that we came home with is our climbing stick. You buy a wooden stick at the 5th station, where you start, for about 12 dollars then you pay about 2 dollars at about 10-15 stations and get a brand put on your stick. It's quite a nice little keepsake.

Way to go Kathleen! Sorry the weather didn't cooperate, but I think what you and your friend, Kim, did was an exciting accomplishment. The stick is a wonderful momento that you will be able to share with the girls about when their Mommy climbed Mt. Fuji :D
You and Kim deserve a night out at the karaoke bar to celebrate your accomplishment . . .
