OK, not so much a "war hero", but rather the recipient of a very nice award. We recently had the change of command for my commanding officer, CAPT Krentz--loyal readers are, of course, familiar with his wife, Kathy--at which the guest speaker was the Surgeon General of the Navy, Vice Admiral Adam Robinson. Why the Navy's top doctor isn't called the "Surgeon Admiral" is beyond me, but I digress. Kathleen and two of her friends and cohorts, Diane Norwood and Melissa Bradley, were presented with the Navy's Meritorious Public Service Award by VADM Robinson for their extensive efforts reinventing the way new members to Yokosuka's Naval Hospital are welcomed. There were many hours spent personally welcoming new families, escorting VIPs and creating a new welcome packet to help those who arrive here find everything they need. Of course, if you ask her, she'll tell you that the most remarkable thing she's done here is to continue to raise our 2 beautiful daughters (not my opinion, it is a verifiable fact). Those award recipients are always so humble!

You could list it on your resume . . . if you had a resume.
Actually, Harry, the nomination specifically mentioned the incredible fact that Kathleen accomplished all these wonderful things while chasing after your two remarkable offspring!
