Goodbye Grandpa and Margie!

Well, we knew it would end, but who knew it would go so fast? After trips to Tokyo and Kyoto and enough Cherry Blossom pictures to last a lifetime, we took Grandpa and Margie to the airport today. We had a great time with them visiting and saw many sights. I had a hard time getting a picture that both Dad and Margie looked good in, but this one is the best. As you know they have a hard time not blinking, OK just Margaret has a hard time. We took them to Tokyo, Kyoto and the fun and exciting Yokosuka. They enjoyed our neighborhood grocery store, Fhab. It has a shortage of wine after their trip. Dad would go there frequently for sushi-to-go. Our back yard looks great after Dad spent a day and a half weeding and fertilizing. I just hope that I can keep the weeds away this summer. I guess he will not know if I don't though. In Tokyo we went on a tour, so we did not have to drag the girls on the train all day. It was a good way to see many things, and we even got to ride on a boat. We spent a day at Ueno park and took many pictures of the cherry blossoms (sakura in Japanese) and visited a museum. We enjoyed some yakisoba and watched the people at the park for lunch. As you can see, Margaret is getting pretty good at using chopsticks without her cheaters. They brought some handy little chopstick cheaters with them that were small enough to carry in their pockets. We celebrated my birthday in Tokyo and went to the awesome restaurant in our hotel called Wellington's. We had an extra surprise in that Harry showed up for dinner. It was of course a great meal, and we had a lesson on the china that our meal was served on. It is made only for the hotel restaurant and illustrates the Japanese/American friendship through flowers. I have always loved the china but didn't know how special it was until then. Unfortunately you are not able to buy the plates, because I would for sure. The next day we headed back to Yokosuka to get ready for our adventure to Kyoto.
