More about Sydney!

We had a great time in Sydney and went to many different sites throughout the city. We used public transportation for everything, and it was so easy. It was nice to be able to read everything in English, it is amazing what you miss in Japan. The Taronga Zoo was a lot of fun, and we where able to take a ferry there so that was a new experience. We where able to see lots of animals and Sydney was great at the zoo because she looks at the animal and then says "what's next?", so we don't have to drag her away from any animals. We can travel at adult pace through the zoo. We walked all over the city, saw many of the historic buildings and got lots of pictures. There is so much history there. We also stopped and took a break at many of the different cafes and let Syd play at Hyde Park, which was lots of fun. As you can tell the weather was perfect for a 31 week pregnant person. It was in the high 50s low 60s most of the time and was wonderful. We did get some rain but with the raincover for the stroller we borrowed from our friend, Kim, we were set. Harry and Sydney ventured out one afternoon by themselves to the aquarium and had a great time. I tried to go and see the Opera house for he second time but was unable to get a tour because of a show going on so I figured the gods where against me seeing the inside of the opera house and just walked around one afternoon by myself. We went shopping at Paddy's market which is only open on the weekends and got Sydney some UGG's and she wore them the rest of the week. I bought some also when we where there but figure I will wait for the winter in Japan to break mine out, much to Sydney's demise because she wanted us to where our shoes together. Sydney and I took a day trip to the Blue mountains and saw many great views and the Wildlife Park. Harry spent the day seeing all the museums that where not kid friendly and taking breaks from the rain in many of the bars in Sydney. His favorite was , the oldest bar in Sydney. Saturday we went back to all the great places that we liked and then attended mass at St. Mary's Cathedral. It was a beautiful cathedral and many things where dated back to the 1880s. We can't say enough about how wonderful Austalia was and how nice all the people where. It was definately worth the 9 hour plane trip from Tokyo and we will try and figure out how we can get back in the next 2 years. Sydney has more stamps on her passport, and more frequent flyer miles than many and did a great job on the flights. We traveled on JAL and the japanese do know customer service. We each had our own TV's so that helped that Syd got to watch whatever she wanted so with snacks and TV she was happy. If you need a layover point to go and see Australia you have 2 more years to stop by Yokosuka Japan. We will be here, though the next couple months may be a little busy. Miss you all!
