Hot! Hot! Hot!

We are trying to find many ways to beat the heat here in Japan, but we know that everyone back home is doing the same. We have been to the pool twice this week and the beach once. Sydney doesn't care where she is as long as there is water. I don't enjoy putting on a swim suit regularly but what else are you going to do when you have a 3 year old. We have a busy week this week because I am teaching Vacation Bible School and Sydney is attending. It should be fun but very busy. We leave next Saturday for our trip to Australia and we are all looking forward to that. I had to figure out how we are getting to and from the airport. No easy task in Japan, but due to the times of our flights and the times of the free shuttle from base we are not able to go that option. I found a friend of a friend who is Japanese and more than willing to help me get a reservation( yes I said reservation) at one of the Narita airport long term parking lots. At these locations they will meet us at the parking lot, valet park our car in covered parking and have it washed by our arrival back. Quite a nice deal for about 100.00 a week. Our car never had it so good. I must say that I am unlike many here in Japan and I do wash my car. Due to how little we pay for a cars here, many don't wash it their entire tour. Sydney and I went to orientation at her new Japanese school this week and picked up her uniform. She of course asks every day when she gets to go to her Japanese school and almost sounds disappointed when I tell her she has to go to her American school today. ( She goes to day care on base for a couple hours a week.) She loves trying on her uniform and carrying her bag around the house. I am going to have a friend whose little girl goes to the same school teach me how to put the uniform together right. This is pretty involved for preschool and the directions for it are in Japanese. There will be many pictures of this next month when we get closer to school. She will only wear this uniform for a month though because in October they will start wearing their winter uniform. Japanese schools sound closer to the military for uniforms. The picture of Sydney in jeans was taken the end of last month but it was still the rainy season so that is why we could get away wearing longer clothes. What a difference a couple of weeks makes. We hope all is going well for everyone in the States. We miss you all!
