We made it!
Well, we made it to the United States without any big issues. For traveling with 2 kids under 5, they did incredibly well and even slept some. Julia got a total of 5 hours sleep in all our travels and Sydney got about 6. I got none, but what do you expect? The free time I had while they both slept I watched "Sex and the City". Once we arrived in Chicago and got through customs, we stopped and had a milkshake which Sydney accidentally knocked over on the floor but without getting it on anyone, so we didn't need to change our clothes. We then found the play area at the airport, and the girls had a great time playing there for almost 45 minutes. Julia was all smiles at the airport with all the stangers who talked to her, she was just facinated by all the people. Sydney was able to push Julia in the stroller/car seat contraption that we borrowed from Dr. Kim. It was a life saver and I recommend it to anyone traveling a lot with someone under 2. I now know how Kim gets back and forth to the US so easily, though she does have a shorter trip that I do, but nothing is short with a toddler.
It took us almost 5 days to adjust to the time, but now finally we are on our feet and enjoying the fall. The weather is 20 degrees cooler here than in Japan, but Sydney sure enjoys playing outside in the crunchy leaves.
I will put some pictures up soon, but I have to download them first.
