I got a job...
OK it was only for one day but the pay was really good. I can honestly say I have
never gotten paid this well for one day of work and I don't really know if I can call it work. An e mail went out last Wednesday that a company needed a nurse to
trial some endoscopy equipment. My friends Kim and Cathy forwarded it to me
and I responded. I got the job, just because I was first to respond and I talked to them and asked if I could bring my baby with someone to watch her. I would have
left her with friends but she is not too fond of the bottle these days so we are working on that. Anyway the company was Pentax and they needed Americans to
verify that there equipment was easy to use. This is a new requirement on equipment that is sent to the US and Canada. I hope that means that I will get many more jobs before I leave Japan, because with only 2 more jobs I could fly the family home to
the US.
The fun thing was that it was with Endoscopy equipment, which I have worked with
and they where accommodating to my baby being there. They actually set up my good friend Robin, who agreed to be my nanny for the day, and Julia in a small Japanese
apartment. The other fun thing about the day is that Robin, who travels much more
in Japan that I do, taught me all about the green train. I have heard about this train and I must say anyone traveling for over an hour should use the green train.
What a difference. It is more like traveling on an airplane than a subway. There is even a lady that comes around selling drinks and food. What fun! We celebrated with a drink on the way home. It is a great way to travel. Dad and Margaret will appreciate this knowledge when we travel by train to Tokyo for the Bullet train when we all head to Kyoto in a couple of weeks.

You look so offical Nurse Watts... and I am so honored to have the title of "good" friend, as opposed to just "friend"! It was fun and she was an angel! Thanks for thinking of me :)
