The second in line to the Throne has arrived!
"Hello World!", was I'm sure the unintelligible comment bellowed from an excited Julia Addison at 12:23pm JST on November 2. As the story goes, Kathleen had mentioned that she was having "pretty continuous contractions" around 6am on the 2nd, so she dropped off Sydney at a friend's house and went straight over to the hospital to get checked in. Where was Harry?, you might ask...I was doing my duty for King and country watching my first patient of the Friday morning fail. Bless the Navy--I got paid anyway! Kathleen got her epidural in timely fashion (we sit behind our CRNA at Mass)and was comfortable all the while until it was time to start pushing at noon. Women who have had significantly longer labors may feel free to send backhanded compliments on a job well done at this time.
As for the vitals: Julia weighed in at 7lbs. 12oz. and 20 inches--quite a bit larger than Sydney's 6lbs. 8oz. and 19 inches. Kathleen and Julia are doing just fine; although, Julia has a great distaste for burping. We hope that everyone is doing well and had a great Halloween. Take care!
