Foxsoon?
This is the first version of Name that Animal. We have many
stray cats that travel through our back yard. Some Japanese
cats and some American, you wonder how I can tell their origin? Well
I've learned a little something since I have been here. Japanese cats have
short little nubbin tails, and we all know American cats have long tails. You
do from time to time see a cat with half a tail and this would be a
mixed culture cat.
Anyway, one day we were looking outside our back window and this was
the animal we saw. We are calling it a Foxsoon, and so if anyone knows the real
name of this strange looking Japanese animal please let us know.

I think you may have been visited by a tanuki.
If you're able to look up tanuki on photobucket.com, there are some really funny clips!
