Yes it is a little early but we ventured up to Yokohama on the 10th of March
to check out the St. Patrick's Day Parade. First we had to survive the train ride,
which for some reason, Sydney always has one meltdown on the train. Then we had
to find the shopping district. You would think with Harry and I, we would have no
problem finding the shopping district! With the help of a hotel consierge, we were able to get where we needed to go. The parade had about 300 people in it and only took 15-20 minutes to go by, but then they turned around and came back. There were bagpipes, girl scouts,
dancers, Irish Setter club of Japan and a couple of other groups.
After the parade we went with some people that we met from the base
to Benny's Bar. He is a retired navy Master Chief that opened this bar in Yokohama.
It was a good time, and we met a family from Tokyo. Sydney really enjoyed playing
with their son Liam. The mother is from Japan and the father is from Ireland.
He was part of the organization that put the parade on. They where a lot
of fun.
